Plan the camera stream, recorder capacity, and hard-drive storage together.

01

CAMERA STREAM

Tell us what the system records

Enter the camera’s configured bitrate whenever available. The calculator supports planning profiles up to 32MP; resolution alone does not determine bitrate.

02

RECORDING POLICY

Choose the real-world recording pattern

When does it record?
Camera motion feature

For planning only, Ultra Motion Detection applies a conservative 30% reduction to the selected motion-recording activity. It is not a guaranteed U-Code or bitrate saving; confirm the camera’s configured bitrate and actual scene activity before ordering.

How long should recordings be kept?
Drive & RAID planning

Match the physical drive count and labeled drive capacity. Usable capacity is based on the smallest drive in the array.

No drive-failure protectionBest for budget-conscious, non-critical systems where loss of historical recordings is acceptable.

Maximum usable capacity — all installed drive space is available for recording.

Data-loss risk: If a drive fails, recordings stored on that drive may be permanently lost. Replacing the drive restores future recording only; it does not recover previous footage.
