UNV NVR502-16B-IQ 16-Channel 2-HDD AI Network Video Recorder

The UNV NVR502-16B-IQ is a 16-channel AI network video recorder with AcuSearch, AcuTrack, recorder-side smart analytics, up to 16MP recording, 4K HDMI output, two SATA hard-drive bays, RAID 1, ANR, dual Gigabit networking, alarm I/O, and ONVIF integration. This recorder does not include built-in PoE ports and requires an external PoE switch.

Important PoE Notice

The NVR502-16B-IQ has no built-in PoE camera ports. All cameras must connect through external PoE switches, PoE injectors, network switches, fiber uplinks, or other properly designed network infrastructure. Confirm total camera bitrate, switch PoE budget, uplink speed, VLAN design, and network topology before ordering.

Recorder-Side AI Search and Analytics

The IQ platform adds AcuSearch, AcuTrack, image search, vehicle comparison, face detection, Smart Intrusion Prevention, and Ultra Motion Detection. Only one recorder-side analyzer mode can be active at a time. Enabling Smart On reduces incoming bandwidth from 320Mbps to 160Mbps, so system design must account for the selected operating mode.

Smart Mode and Compatibility Notice

Recorder-side analyzer modes cannot operate simultaneously. AcuSearch and AcuTrack require compatible UNV SIP or UMD cameras. Third-party cameras may require manual configuration, and smart events, metadata, audio, alarms, image search, and firmware management may be limited.

Installation Tip

Design the system around external PoE switches and the selected AI operating mode. Confirm camera bitrate, Smart-On bandwidth, switch PoE budget, uplinks, VLANs, fiber links, storage retention, RAID design, UPS capacity, remote-viewing bandwidth, and camera compatibility before installation.
