UNV NVR501-08B

The UNV NVR501-08B is a compact 8-channel network video recorder designed for residential, retail, office, and small commercial IP video surveillance systems requiring dependable high-resolution recording and centralized camera management.

Supporting recording resolutions up to 16 megapixels, up to 80Mbps incoming bandwidth, one internal SATA hard-drive bay, 4K HDMI output, eight-channel synchronous playback, camera-side smart-event integration, and Uniview Ultra 265 compression, the NVR501-08B provides a practical recording platform for professional eight-camera systems.

Standard Non-PoE Recorder

The NVR501-08B does not include built-in PoE camera ports. IP cameras must connect through a compatible external PoE switch or existing network infrastructure.

This model should not be confused with the NVR501-08B-LP8 or NVR501-08B-P8, which include eight built-in PoE interfaces.

Camera-Side Intelligence

Compatible Smart Event Integration

When paired with compatible intelligent IP cameras, the NVR501-08B can receive, display, record, and search supported camera-generated smart events and VCA information.

Supported functions may include face detection, smart intrusion prevention, Ultra Motion Detection, vehicle search, non-motor vehicle search, human-body search, general event search, and people-counting reports.

This standard recorder does not provide the same recorder-side AI processing available on IQ-series models. Smart features depend on the connected camera, firmware, available system resources, and configuration.

Network Bandwidth Notice

This recorder uses a 10/100Mbps Ethernet interface and supports up to 80Mbps incoming recording bandwidth. Confirm the total configured camera bitrate before installation, particularly when using high-resolution, high-frame-rate, or multiple-stream camera configurations.

Storage and Recording-Retention Notice

Recording retention depends on camera count, resolution, frame rate, bitrate, compression format, scene activity, recording schedule, smart-event configuration, and installed hard-drive capacity.
